“Infrastructuring Conflicts: Contested Qualities of Urban Networks”

Friederike Landau-Donnelly (University of Radboud)

Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies, Lund University, Biskopsgatan 3, Lund

Monday, 3 April 2023, 13:15-15:00

You are invited to an Urban Arena talk and roundtable discussion on 'Infrastructuring Conflicts: Contested Qualities of Urban Networks' by Friederike Landau-Donnelly (University of Radboud). Friederike will discuss the political role of infrastructures and the conflicts and frictions that bring them into being. She will draw upon empirical findings from the neighbourhoods of Chinatown and Hogan’s Alley in Vancouver (Canada) to explore the inherently contested qualities that are bound up in everyday practices and politics of sociomaterial networks. The lecture will be followed by a roundtable discussion with Alicia Smedberg (IT University of Copenhagen) and Marthe Nehl (Lund University).

The event is co-sponsored by the Urban Arena, the Pufendorf Theme ’Public Art and the New Commons’, and the Pufendorf Advanced Study Group ’Seamless Life: The Imaginaries, Experiences and Peril of Data-Driven Life’.
